Mangan

Elevated to an altitude of 3950 ft, Mangan is a beautiful town in Sikkim . It is located in the North Sikkim District which is the largest district in Sikkim. The town boasts of sheer beauty which it inherited from Mother nature. It is dotted with several flower patches filling the heart of the onlookers with a sense of loveliness . It is the main administration and market centre of north Sikkim. The markets are full of apples, oranges and cardamom. Cardamom are produced in plenty here. In fact, according to Mangan it is the world capital of the large cardamom. You can easily reach this town by covering a distance of 65 km from Gangtok. The town is becoming a hot tourists destination in Sikkim. Tourism is playing an important role in its economy. Its culture reflects how rich the customs, traditions and beliefs of Sikkim are.

A visit to the forested land Dzongu is a recreational activity in its true sense. It has two rivers called Teesta and Tolung. It is located in the vicinity of Mt. Kanchanjunga and the snow -clad Mt. Siniolchu which are steeped in natural beauty. Another attraction worth a visit is Tolung Monastry which houses horse saddles, ancient thankas and thigh bone trumpets.
