Tengnoupal-Hill Station Manipur

Tengnoupal district is the highest point on the Indo-Myanmar Road in Manipur. This place offers mesmerising views of the valleys of the state. Far from the hustle bustle of the city, Tengnoupal is a peaceful and beautiful tourist destination of North Eastern state of Manipur. It is located 69 km from the capital city Imphal. As one travels through this place, one will notice that it rises in and out of clouds. It feels as if one is about to touch the heaven. What a heavenly experience! The surroundings are dotted with lush green vegetation which is a treat to eyes. Formerly Tengnoupal was a part of the Central district. It covers an area of 3,375 sq km and varies in altitude from 2,500 ft to 10,000 ft. It was once the dynasty of the Pakhangha rulers. This place was conquered by the Chinese in 1631 and was bombarded by the Japanese in 1942 during World War II. The district boasts of two beautiful rivers namely Manipur and Barak which flow from north to south. The district also has various lakes teeming with fishes.


Located near the Tengnoupal district is Moreh which shares its border with Burma. It is located on the Indo-Myanmar Road. It is an important commercial centre of North East India. One can go on a shopping spree here.
