Along is an arresting valley endowed with natural beauty. It is the headquarters of the West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh. It is situated 150 kilometers away from Likabali, the border of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. It is an enchanting tourist destination surrounded by mountains on all sides. The Sipu and Siyom are the two gurgling rivers which flow through the valley contributing to its beauty. Perched at an altitude of 300 meters from the sea level, Along offers breath-taking views of gigantic mountains. It is dotted with several beautiful villages. The entire population of Along consists of the Adi tribes which has several sub tribes such as Gallong, Minyong, Pasi, Padam, Bori and Bokar.

Ramakrishna Ashram
This is a serene place providing items related to Ramakrishna Paramhansa, Maa Sharada and Swami Vivekananda. The ashram is peaceful.

Hanging Bridge
It is a beautiful bridge built on the Siang river which offers wonderful views of the surroundings. This bridge has been fashioned from cane and bamboo and is approximately 60 to 70 meters in length.

Reaching There
Lilabari in Assam is the nearest airport. From here, catch a bus or taxi to reach Along. The nearest railway station is situated at Silapathar. Travellers can easily reach by bus or car from Likabali and Pasighat. Buses and taxis are also available from North Lakhimpur or Itanagar.
