Founds of Malinithan Arunachal Pradesh

Malinithan is a pilgrimage centre which is just a kilometer off from Likabali in Arunachal Pradesh. Hordes of tourists and pilgrims visit this temple site each year. If legends are to be believed, it is said that after Lord Krishna married Rukmani he seeked Goddess Parvati's blessings on his to Dwarka. God Krishna was extremely happy to see the garland Goddess Parvati brought to greet them. Krishna referred to Godess Parvati as a lady who strings beautiful garlands. Parvati then got the Malini and the place Malinithan.


The ruins of Durga Temple in Malinithan were hidden until the excavations in the 20th century. It was after these excavations that the stone images were revealed to the people. Later certain other valuable scriptures were also unearthed. The temple has been dedicated to Goddess Durga. It is built alike the ancient temples in Orissa. The temple has been beautifully designed and carefully decorated. The intricately carved out panels and columns, floral designs further add to beautify the temple.

One can travel to Malinithan at any time of the year.


Reaching There
Lilabari and Dibrugarh are the nearest airports. The closest railhead is at Silapathar. Buses or cars from Guwahati and Itanagar make you reach Malinithan comfortably.
