A home to exciting wildlife species, Dibang wildlife sanctuary offers adventurous expedition to the wildlife enthusiasts. It is located to the north east of Anini which is the headquarters of the Upper Dibang Valley district in Arunachal Pradesh. Anini is a beautiful place located in the mountains close to the frontiers of China. Covering an area of 4149 sq km, the wildlife sanctuary shelters wildlife such as Musk deer, Seron, Takin, Goral, Black bear, Red Panda, Leopard, Monal, Tragopan, Kalij and Pheasants. Rare bird species are also spotted here. The sanctuary boasts of lush green vegetation which has its own sweet smell. The area around the wildlife sanctuary is inhabited by the Idu Mishmi tribe of Arunachal Pradesh.


The Dibang Valley district in which the Dibang Wildlife Sanctuary is located is divided into upper and lower Dibang Valley. It is named after the Dibang River which originates in China and cascades through this valley.


How To Reach Dibang Wildlife Sanctuary:

Air: Dibrugarh is the nearest airport which is well connected with New Delhi and Kolkata by Indian Airlines, Jet Airways and Sahara Airlines. Anini is connected to Itanagar by Pawan Hans Helicopter.
Rail: The nearest railway station is Tinsukia.
Road: Regular bus and taxi services connect various areas of the district to the Dibang Wildlife sanctuary.
