About The Wildlife Sanctuary
:
Itanagar Wildlife Sanctuary is a home to a rich variety of flora and fauna which attracts tourists from far and wide. Covering an area of 140.30 sq km, the sanctuary is located in Naharlagun, near the capital city of Arunachal Pradesh. The sanctuary shelters a wide variety of animals and birds. Some of the major attractions are tiger, deer, leopard and elephant. It is also the perfect place to see a variety of orchids. Orchids along with other flora add beauty to the sanctuary.


How To Reach:

Air: Lilabari is the nearest airport. Guwahati is the other nearby airport. Daily Pawan Hans Helicopter service from Guwahati to Itanagar makes the journey of the tourists hassle free. This service also connects all the district headquarters of Arunachal Pradesh.

Rail: Harmuty is the nearest railway station.

Road: The sanctuary is well connected to Itanagar which in turn is connected with all the major district headquarters of the state.
