Famous for its panels of rock carvings on the steep mountain, Deotamura is a sacred place located on the bank of river Gomati. It is also known as Devtamura which means 'the peak of Gods'. The surrounding vegetation is lush green and it seems as if the place is covered with a green carpet. Tourists from far and wide come to this place to see a large number of images carved on the hills overlooking the river. These images are of Shiva, Vishnu, Kartika, Mahisasur Mardini Durga and other Gods and Goddesses. The history of these interesting images dates back to the 15th and the 16th century. Huge in size, these images are simply magnificent. They are around 37 in number. Boating facility is available at the river. The boat ride offers picture-perfect views of the hill and the surroundings.


For reaching Deotamura firstly you need to arrive at Rangamati by bus from Udaipur. Once you have reached here, you can arrive at Deotamura by boat. There is no dearth of accommodation in Deotamura because of its ideal location near the capital city Agartala. During summers the climate of this place is hot and humid, so it is advisable to come here in winters.
