About TheTrishna Wildlife Sanctuary:
The Trishna Wildlife Sanctuary is famous for its rich variety of flora and fauna. Occupying an area of 197.7 sq km , it was established in 1988. The vegetation of the sanctuary consists of four types of forest – the tropical semi-evergreen forest, the east Himalayan lower Bhanar sal, Moist mixed deciduous forest and the Savanah woodland. Here you can see a great variety of tree species, herbs, shrubs, climbers and grass. The sanctuary is dotted with 230 tree species, 400 herbs, 110 shrubs and 150 climbers. Medicinal plants can also be seen here. Some of the prominent medicinal plant species are Kurcha, Tulsi, Vasak, Sarpaganda, Rudraksha, Bel, Chirata, Kalamegh. School going children, academicians, botanists, environmentalists, taxonomists and visitors can gain a lot of knowledge on wildlife in this sanctuary. Education, Awareness, Entertainment and Amusement programmes are held at the sanctuary.
Some of the major attractions of the sanctuary are the Indian Gaur(bison), Deer, Hooklock Gibbon, Golden langur, Capped langu, Pheasants. It is also a home to the reptiles. Different species of resident birds and migratory birds can be easily spotted here. Some of the primates found in the sanctuary are Bos gaurus (Indian Bison), Trachypithecus phayrie(Spectacle langur), Hylobates hoolock (Hoolock Gibbon), Macacca mulatta (Lalmukh Bandar), Trachypithecus pileatus (Capped Langur), Sus scrofa (Wild boar), Felis chaus (Wild cat) and Panthera pardus (Leopard).

Air: Agartala is the nearest airport which is107 km away from it by air.
Road: The sanctuary can be easily reached by bus or taxi from Agartala which is 95 km(by road) from it.

You can stay at Forest Rest House Rajnagar, Van Mahal at Belonia and Revenue Dak Bunglow at Rajnagar.
