The land of pineapple, Kumarghat is located in the North Tripura District. It is known to produce pineapples in abundance. In fact, it is the highest producer of the fruit in the entire Tripura. The primary occupation of the people residing at this place is pineapple cultivation. It supplies the fruit to states like Assam, Manipur and other neighbouring states. It is 140 km from the capital city Agartala. Kumarghat railway station is the nearest railway station. Accommodation is also not a problem here.


Sightseeing in Kumarghat:

Ujjavanta Palace: Famous for its Chinese room, carved doors and water pools, the Ujjavanta Palace is located in Agartala. It was built in Indo-Saracenic style of architecture.


Neermahal
: Neermahal the water palace was built as a summer resort by Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya in 1930. It is a perfect blend of the Hindu and Mughal architecture. It is located at a distance of 53 km from Agartala.


Venuban Vihar
: It is a monastery built by Magdha King Bimbisar for Buddha. Buddha lived here for some time. Now it has been converted into a Deer Park and a Zoo.


Kamala Sagar
: It is an artificial lake made by Maharaja Dhanya Manikya Bahadur in the 15th century. The hillock overlooking this lake is dotted with the Kali temple.
