Udaipur in TripuraFamous for its great attractions, Udaipur is located in the north eastern state of Tripura. Its places of tourist interest attract tourists from across the globe. It is situated only 55 km from the capital city Agartala. The original name of Udaipur was Rangamati and Radha Kishorepur. It is a sacred spot dotted with the famous temples of Tripura and hence is known as the 'temple town of Tripura'. Tripura Sundari and Bhubaneswari temples and Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary are the main attractions here. Tripura Sundari temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas which is also known as Matabari temple. It is perched on the Dhanisagar hillock. The temple is dedicated to Ma Kali and is built in the typical Bengali hut style.
