Jampui Hills, Tripura

Famous for its wonderful Orange Festival, Jampui Hills is the highest hill range of Tripura. It is located at an altitude of 3000 ft above the sea level and is situated in the North Tripura district in Tripura. Orange plantation is the primary occupation of the people here. The predominant tribes inhabiting the hills are Lushais and Reangs. The hill offers mesmerizing views of the nearby places. The views of sunrise and sunset from the hill are simply breathtaking. There are several view points on the hill which offer fantastic views of the Chittagong Hill Tracts and the Kanchanpur-Dasda valley. Some of the hill ranges of Mizoram are also visible from here.


If you are planning to visit Jampui Hills in the month of November, you might get a chance to participate in the wonderful Orange Festival. This festival attracts many tourists from India and abroad. Equally charming is its rainy season which brings with it the floating clouds which cover the hills. It is a sight to behold.


Jampui Hills are blessed virgin forests, peaceful ambiance, Orange gardens and pleasant climate. Several species of flowers, including Orchids can be spotted here. For making the holidays of the tourists more pleasurable, boating facility in the Sabual village of the hill range has been introduced. On this heavenly hill you can enjoy the perfect accommodation at the Eden Tourist Lodge. It is the property of the Tourist Department of Government of Tripura. The hills are located 200 km from Agartala and can be reached by car or bus.
