Tlawng River at Kolasib Mizoram

Kolasib is a small town in Mizoram. It is located at a distance of about 83 kilometers from Aizawl, the state capital. It is located somewhere between Silchar and Aizawl. The people of Kolasib are distinct from the rest of the state in terms of various practices, customs and lifestyle they follow. English and Mizo are the chief languages spoken the locals. These people belong mainly to the Mongolian breed. Agriculture is the main occupational practice in this region.


Best Time to Travel
The climatic conditions prevailing at this place are pleasant. The summers are cool while the winters are not chilly. Heavy rainfall occurs from May till September. Therefore, the best time to travel to this place falls between November to March.


Reaching There
Lengpui Airport at Aizawl is the closest airport which links Kolasib with Guwahati, Kolkata and Silchar. The closest railway station from Kolasib is the Silchar Railway Station. Reaching Kolasib from Aizawl is easy by road. Buses and taxis are available on daily basis from Aizawl that enable you to reach Kolasib.
