Vairengte Mizoram

Vairengte in Mizoram is located in the Kolasib District. It is approximately 130 kilometers off Aizawl, the state capital. The lush green cover that surrounds Vairengte make it a picturesque destination of Mizoram. Vairengte's population is sparse but the tracts of forest cover are thick. Mist-laden valleys that dot the hilly region offer a heavenly view to the traveller. The atmosphere is pure and tranquil. You will be overwhelmed by the cordial welcome extended by the warm and hospitable people to this land.


Best Time to Travel
November to March is the best time of the year to travel to Vairengte. The weather condition is most amiable during this period. Summers here are soothing and Winters are not extremely chilly. Beginning from the month of May upto September, Vairengte receives heavy downpours.


Reaching There
Lengpui Airport at Aizawl is the closest airport which links Vairengte with Guwahati, Kolkata and Silchar. Silchar Railway Station is the closest railway station from Vairengte. Buses and taxis are available on daily basis from Aizawl that enable you to reach Vairengte easily.


Accommodation
While you are in Vairengte, accommodation is not a problem. You can stay at Traveller's Inn or Vairengte Government Tourist Lodge. You can also choose to stay somewhere in Aizawl. It offers numerous quality lodging options and it well connected not only to Vairengte but also to the rest of the country.

Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School (CIJWS)

Regarded as one of the most prestigious anti-terrorist institutions, this school in Mizoram was constructed in the year 1970. Armies of several countries namely the United States, France, Britain, Vietnam and Tajikistan have gained benefit from this school.
